Ingredients
- 4 cups Cooked turkey (cubed)
- 3 cups Cooked ham (cubed)
- 1 1/4 cup Cheese, Swiss or Cheddar (shredded, divided)
- 1 cup Onion (chopped)
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 1/3 cup Flour
- 2 cups Half-and-half
- 1 1/4 teaspoon Dill weed (divided)
- 1/8 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon Ground mustard
- 1 cup Dry bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup Walnuts (chopped)
Directions
Step 1 | |
Combine turkey, ham, and 1 cup cheese; set aside. | |
Step 2 | |
Saute onion in 1/4 cup butter. | |
Step 3 | |
Stir in flour to form a paste. | |
Step 4 | |
Gradually add half-and-half, stirring constantly. | |
Step 5 | |
Bring to a boil. Boil 1 minute or until thick. | |
Step 6 | |
Add 1 teaspoon dill weed, nutmeg, and ground mustard. | |
Step 7 | |
Pour over meat mixture and toss gently to combine. | |
Step 8 | |
Spoon into greased 13 x 9-inch pan. | |

Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter and toss with bread crumbs and remaining 1/4 teaspoon dill weed. | |
Step 10 | |
Mix in remaining 1/4 cup cheese and walnuts. Sprinkle over casserole. | |
Step 11 | |
Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until heated through. |
