Part 1—Interview with Amish Author Sherry Gore

Sherry Gore Interview Part 1 Graphic

It’s countdown week at AmishReader.com! Made with Love (Book 1 in The Pinecraft Pie Shop series) releases this Saturday, and we’re celebrating with a series of fun little interviews with Amish coauthor Sherry Gore. Come meet the foodie behind the fiction!

Today’s interview is a traditional (fun-sized) Q&A…

AmishReader: What was it like collaborating on a book and approaching it from the background of two different cultures?

Sherry: Each of us had something to lend the other didn’t have. As a beloved fiction author, Tricia knows what her readers are looking for. I happen to live in the midst of that very thing and experience first-hand the same comings and goings just like those found in Made With Love on a daily basis. My knowledge of the culture and its people combined with her experience at fiction writing made for a perfect meeting of the minds.

Made with LoveAmishReader: What makes Pinecraft (Florida) a unique setting for an Amish novel?

Sherry: Volleyball games in January, day trips to the beach in February, sided with good Amish-cooking all year long make Pinecraft the perfect setting for a novel series written for romantics and foodies alike!

AmishReader: What sort of role does food play in Made with Love? Will food be a large part of every book in the series?

Sherry: Amish cooking has a starring role in Made With Love and the sequels of The Pinecraft Pie Shop series. While Lovina and Noah are the Hero and Heroine everyone comes to love and root for, it’s the tantalizing treats from Amish kitchens in Pinecraft that earn the award for Best Supporting Actor in Made With Love. Bravo!
